What is Precious Plastic?

Precious Plastic is a global open source project breathing new life into discarded plastic.

This project, which began in the Netherlands in 2013, provides free and easy-to-access blueprints for recycling machines, upcycling know-how, educational tools, and more.

There is only one goal.

"Turning plastic waste into a resource with our own hands."

Waste plastic is separated, crushed, and reshaped into new products. All the information and tools necessary for this are openly shared. The appeal of Precious Plastic is that anyone can start, whether they are an individual, a school, or a small local group.

Collect and crush.

Plastics are used and thrown away every day in our daily lives.

At Precious Plastic, we separate and collect such plastic, and change our thinking from "throwing it away" to "making use of it."

For example, everyday items such as PET bottle caps, food trays, and contact lens cases are examples.

Making Machines

Precious Plastic provides all of the blueprints for the machines used to process plastic. No special factories or large-scale facilities are required.

With just a few tools and some ingenuity, you can make your own DIY machines, such as grinders or injection molding machines.

The act of "creating" itself leads to learning and new discoveries.

Reborn

The collected plastic is crushed into small pieces, heated, and reborn into new forms. Taking advantage of the color and characteristics of the material, the possibilities are endless, depending on your creativity, and can be made into accessories, miscellaneous goods, stationery, art pieces, and more. Plastic that would have been garbage is given a new life as a product with "new value."

Would you like to get started with us?

Precious Plastic is not a project for any "special person".

"Those who can, start with what they can do" - this spirit is spreading throughout the world.

Giving disposable plastic a second chance.

It also means reexamining our own lives and society.

Now, a small cycle is being created from your hands.
